Quilting with Buck

Well... I was pondering this weekend the fact that I would like to have a pretty quilt to hang on the wall at the top of my stairs. Since my quilting skills are about 20 years rusty I decided to check out You Tube to see if I could find any helpful Do-It-Yourself videos to inspire me.

Well... did I EVER! Check out Quilting with Buck!

What a hoot! Sort of a Georgia Bonesteel Lap Quilting meets Tim the Tool Man. No chain saws allowed! :)

As for You Tube - it's definitely fun. Though I could probably get sucked in for hours. Might be interesting to explore some training possibilities though.

PeerTrainer

Checked out PeerTrainer - an online community that helps you lose weight and/or get physically fit. The heart of the community is the support you get in small teams. The other feature that helps you stay on track is daily logging (writing not chopping trees - though that would probably help get me fit!). The idea is that if you write in your log each day - knowing that the other members of your team will be reading it - you are more likely to stay on track.

For me, personally, I'm not sure that's enough incentive. I'm good at "logging" - lousy at exercising... sigh...

Since I use Google all the time - and already have a Google account - I decided to check out Google Docs as opposed to Zoho Writer.

So far it seems very easy to use.

I like that it is very similar to MS Word so there shouldn't be a big learning curve (a MAJOR benefit as far as I'm concerned!)

Now if I can figure out how to "publish" to my blog I'll be a believer!

Our 23 Things assignment for today was on Wikis which we are all pretty familiar with. But I did think it was timely since we are trying to figure out how to make our subject bibs more available. Using a wiki might be an interesting way to do it!
